Blanc de Chine New York Fashion Week September 2012

Blanc de Chine showed the 2013 Spring / Summer collection entitled “Fashion Fusion” at New York Fashion Week. Below is more information on the season’s collection and attached are images of the looks.

Womenswear

To celebrate the anniversary of the brand, for Spring / Summer 2013 we have adopted an emphasis on Blanc de Chine color – a luscious, creamy shade of off-white/beige. The color comes in a variety of fabrics, including luxurious silk and our travel-friendly poly crepe. Smooth, sensuous silk was discovered in ancient China and has attracted admirers worldwide. The delicate fabric is generously applied in our collection to convey a woman’s elegance with an understated nod to Chinese culture. Poly crepe has always been popular with our customers. The fiber is made from tightly twisted yarns and admired for its versatility. The fabric requires minimal maintenance, making our tunics and Qi Paos the most functional of their kind.

The women’s collection also consists of a number of formal gowns. These spectacular pieces are made with our lightweight sequined fabric, in subtle matte with a glamorous shimmer, which glides on the body. The designs are sensational and subtle at the same time - with diamante crystal beadings, hidden pleats, and the use of sheer fabrics.

Menswear

Functionality, one of Blanc de Chine’s eight fundamental elements, is a focal point of this collection. In light of the recent rise in temperatures across the globe, we are introducing a revolutionary short-sleeve version of our best-selling Chinese tuxedo.

Mirroring our original Chinese tuxedo jacket, the short-sleeve version has an elegant silk satin piping and our meticulous thread-wrapped hook. It gives an instant slimming effect, and most importantly, exudes subtle sophistication at a special occasion. This modern jacket pairs well with our formal trousers as well as our new formal shorts, both of which feature silk satin piping. A suit is never complete without a shirt. As in past collections, this season’s shirts feature the finest cotton from Switzerland. We’ve also included short-sleeve shirts to complement our new short-sleeve tuxedo suit.
